International Students
International students and their parents face exciting prospects as well as confusing challenges when applying to U.S. colleges. Many international applicants are admitted to U.S. universities every year, but the application process remains unfamiliar and somewhat mysterious to those who did not grow up in the States.
International applicants may encounter many cultural surprises, including the preference for students with interests outside of school, the focus on a “right fit” college for each individual student, and the perplexing array of “financial responsibility statements.” Most importantly, international students must evaluate their proficiency with the English language to accurately determine their realistic college choices. We will guide international students and parents through the entire college application process, from understanding how colleges select students, to meeting the many deadlines over a period of months, and from developing an appropriate list of colleges for consideration, to writing persuasive essays that reveal how the student will contribute to the college community. |
